The original Aikon was released in August 2001, and followed up in 2003 with Aikon 2 and Aikon 3. Aikon IV started it's life during the initial private alpha testing phase before any public invites went out.

Styled around the looks of a cell phone, Aikon IV continues the tradition of a good looking, functional skin.

Aikon IV has gone through three different designs, to finally end up in it's current form. Initially the design was made for a different application as a test, but was later "updated" to include features that Astra offered (curved edges, alpha transparency glossiness). This design was eventually dumped for a more "modern" looking style, as the previous design felt a bit dated.
